This piece was inspired by my man and muse, Jerry Z who is sitting on the beach in St. John, USVI playing his kalimba (thumb piano). I sketched the design onto canvas and embroidered the entire surface with antique microbeads (size 16-22). "Cinnamon Bay" was juried into the Beaded Cloth Exhibition, and toured around the U.S. to numerous galleries. It was also featured in the book Beaded Embellishment by Amy C. Clarke and Robin Atkins, and can be seen in Beadwork magazine (Oct/Nov 2002).
