The main inspiration for this piece was the blue cloudy skys painted by Renee Magritte. I loomed 3 strips of sky including clouds, a sunset and the night. Originally, I wanted to mount the strips onto a fabric base with a green leafy print, but at the time was unable to find any, so I decided to make the background out of beads (providing the dense foliage with a unique texture). This piece took 4 years to complete and is featured in Margie Deeb's new book "A beader's Guide to Color" (2004).
