CANNED BEADS all started because I made my first label for a Campbell's Soup "art contest" in 1995. Ever since then, I cruise the grocery store aisles looking for inspiration. I graph out the designs using the actual label and creative license, then loom it up and stitch it to a felt base with velcro so they actually fit the cans. Some have my own lampwork beads as accents.
I recently got Beadscape-a computer program that helps you graph out bead designs. It is a million times easier than using my old method of tracing the label onto graph paper. So these are the 3 newest cans in the works...Swanson Bead Broth, Hanover Chick Beads, and Hormel Chili with Beads. Other labels to come include... Libby's Corned Bead Hash, Green Giant 3-Bead Salad, Chef Boyardee Bead Ravioli, Dinty Moore Bead Stew, Progresso Bead Barley, and I'm redoing the old Campbell's (Bead with Bacon) and Goya (Dark Red Kidney Beads) cans.
